VOCS ITALIAN FEAST TO BE HELD ON OCTOBER 3RD, 7:00PM AT PRONTO RESTAURANT, LOCATED AT 3475 CAMBIE STREET IN VANCOUVER (JUST ACROSS FROM THE PARK THEATRE)
This will be VOCS’s first Italian food feast, following on previous Chinese, Greek, and Indian feasts. Pronto serves excellent Italian food, and what is better than that? There will be a set menu of salads and pastas, a separate area for the feast, and, of course, as much good red wine as can be afforded by your pocket book or your constitution, whichever comes first! The price per diner will be $30 for food, with dessert and hooch extra. Payment will be in respect of separate bills issued to individuals or groups of diners and paid to the restaurant.
The menu will be as follows:
Penne primavera (vegetarian option)
Insalata mista or tossed organic greens
Seating is limited to 30 diners, so if you want to come to the Italian Feast, please be in touch with Peter Moskos at *protected email*.
THE 3RD ANNUAL VARSITY MATCH BREAKFAST, TO BE HELD AT THE MANCHESTER PUB AT 1941 WEST BROADWAY IN VANCOUVER AT 8:00AM ON DECEMBER 7TH, 2017
Rugby fans amongst VOCS membership (and who would that leave out?) will not want to miss a huge English breakfast and the Varsity Match on a big screen to cheer one up as Winter exerts its dark charms upon Vancouver. In line with last year, local rugger types from local rugger teams will be invited in order to give the whole event a heartier atmosphere and, no doubt, cheer the heart of the publican.
There is one hitch in this event. The ladies’ Varsity Match, by the calculation of we at VOCS, starts at 3:30AM B.C. time, being 11:30AM English time. We have profound doubts that the Manchester Pub can induce kitchen staff and servers to come in before 3:30AM to deal with what would likely be a rather small crowd. There will be negotiations with the pub about perhaps playing a recording of the ladies’ match after the gentlemens’ match is over. Look for information on this in a later OB, please.
There is no admission charge. You just have to pay for your breakfast. Yum…..
